Blake SGA Constitution

The Constitution pertains to the structure, powers, and role of the SGA, as well as the duties of the elected members, and other more general aspects of the SGA.  The Constitution can only be amended by the General Assembly, and supersedes the Bylaws in any conflict.  The Constitution is the most authoritative document of the SGA.


Protocols for Committees

The Protocols for Committees are instructions to SGA committee chairpersons about how to operate their committees.  The document is a memorandum issued by the SGA President, who may revise the Protocols at his/her discretion.

Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

This is the beneficiary of the Pennies for Patients campaign. As stated on its website, the organization is "dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education, and patient services."

MASC (Maryland Association of Student Councils)

MASC is the state-level student government. Its yearly events include High School Leadership Conference, Middle School Leadership Conference, Legislative Session (where delegates take lobbying positions on various bills in the MD legislature, and select the two finalists for the Student Member of the Maryland Board of Education), and Convention (a 3-day gathering with various workshops, and the election of next year's officers). The Blake SGA is a member of this organization.

MCPS (Montgomery County Public Schools)

- Student Affairs Office

Responsible for all student government matters, in addition to other functions. Has links to information on anything you could ever want to know about student government.

- Student's Rights and Responsibilities

All students should have received this booklet in the first few weeks of the school year.

MCR (Montgomery County Region of the Maryland Association of Student Councils)

MCR is the county-level student government for high schools. The Blake SGA is a member of the Montgomery County Region of the Maryland Association of Student Councils.

NASC (National Association of Student Councils)

NASC is the national-level student government. It sponsors various conferences in multiple parts of the country, in addition to the one national conference every June. The Blake SGA is a member of NASC.


Monetary Grant Request 

As part of its efforts to support the interests of the student body, and in the same spirit of generosity and service that it seeks to foster among the school community, the SGA may occasionally consider contributing to certain clubs, organizations, and causes.  Click here for a Grant Application.
